Please pre-register if you want to exhibit your vehicle by emailing: office@bucksrailcentre.org or by emailing us this registration form. Cars\, motorbikes\, vans\, buses\, fire engines\, bicycles… any pre-1988 vehicle will be welcome! DESCRIPTION:Pete Giles\, a long time member and friend of the Aylesbury MG Club\, has invited us to share in a technical day at his unit in Rabans Lane Aylesbury on Sunday 20th \nof August from 12.00 to 5.00pm. \nThere will be an opportunity to bring your car along and discuss any issues\, have a look underneath with it on the ramp\, plan any future work\, service or maintainance. \n  \n  \n  \nPete will be providing a BBQ and wine and beers and soft drinks will be available. \nPlease let us know if you intend to come along as we need to know how many to cater for. \n       \nBucks Sports and Classic Car Centre \nAfter many successful years of servicing and restoring classic MG’s (as well as providing general\nmechanical services) we seized the opportunity to become more involved in other sports car models as well as Mini’s old and new. \nThey now specialise in a number of different makes and models in the classic car domain and have had many successful years under the “Bucks Sports and Classics” banner.

DESCRIPTION:Due to adverse weather conditions the Pride of Ownership event was cancelled and will now be held on Tuesday August 1st. DESCRIPTION:We now have eleven cars and twenty-one people booked on the trip.\n\nSummary of the arrangements as follows:-\nTuesday.\nArrive Tuesday 30th May in time for dinner at the hotel. The hotel have promised dedicated parking for MGs.\n \nWednesday\nWe will have a scenic drive around the Lincolnshire Wolds.\nLunch will be a buffet at the Royal Oak “Splash” Pub.\nAfter lunch we will visit Cadwell Park Circuit. Here you can spectate the motorbike track day and then during their lunch we will have an MG parade around the circuit.\nAnother drive in the afternoon with tea and plum bread at a Water Mill.\nDinner at the hotel in a private room.\n \nThursday\nWe will visit the Aviation Heritage Centre. Here we should have dedicated parking to get good pictures. There is a very good museum\, and the Lancaster will be demonstrating taxy at 11.00.\nLunch will be either at the centre cafe or at the next venue.\nThe last visit is to the Micro car museum. A great collection of bubble cars which is usually only open at weekends but will open for us that afternoon.

DESCRIPTION:December Club Night and AMGC Quiz \nTuesday December 6th is our next Club Night\, when we will be celebrating the coming of Christmas and enjoying some fun in the form of our annual quiz.  This year we are inviting the other members of St John’s to enter a team (or two?).  We are asking that all members attending bring along some party food for your team to enjoy during the Quiz night break. There will be prizes for the winning team. Remember that we are welcome to bring in food items but all drinks must be purchased at the bar. \nAs it is likely to be a busy night\, we are asking if you could please arrive promptly by 19.30 so you can organise ourselves into teams (if you haven’t done so already) and we will then quickly take any club notices and complete the admin for the quiz for a prompt start at 20.00.  Please feel free to wear your festive Christmas jumpers and to bring your choice of Christmas nibbles along to help with the celebrations.  \nFor the quiz\, teams can be up to 6 members.  There will be 8 rounds of questions that I will explain before we start\, and a small traditional prize for the winning team.  So please make every effort to attend this fun event if you can.

DESCRIPTION:Midsomer Murders comes to St Johns Social Club!! \nThis month we meet as usual on Tuesday 6th September at 8.00pm but this time we have a very interesting speaker coming to talk to us. \nDouglas Watkinson (born 5 July 1945) is a writer who has written the screenplay for 7 episodes of the popular ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders. He is an English novelist\, playwright and screenwriter\, specialising in crime and mystery\, and I am sure he will entertain us with many a tale. DESCRIPTION:After an absence of over two years we are happy to announce that this years Pride of Ownership event will be held on Tuesday 2nd August at the St Johns Social Club in Stone near Thame. \nIt will feature all classes of MG’s and maybe some other classics too. \nThe event will start at around 6pm for cars to begin to arrive and be organised into the show area. If you wish to attend and enter your vehicle then please use the attached form to do so. Click Here for your information and entry form. \nA fish and chip supper is also being organised at a cost of £10.00 per head\, but you will need to pre order and pay in advance for this if you want to partake. DESCRIPTION:This year we are going to Battle in Sussex.\n\nThe venue is the Powdermills Hotel https://powdermillshotel.com/.    Dates Tuesday 14th June 2022 to Thursday 16th or Friday 17th.\n\nThe hotel rate is £125 per night B&B.  The Wednesday night will be £200 as it will include dinner.  The plan is to arrive Tuesday 14th afternoon or evening . Events will be organised as below for Wednesday and Thursday. It will be your choice to depart Thursday late afternoon or stay another night in the hotel and depart Friday.\n \nPlease call the hotel direct on 01424 775511 to book your rooms. remember to say that you are part of the Aylesbury MG club party. \n\n\n\nProposed itinerary \nTuesday\nArrive at hotel in own time. Use of pool\, bar and lake for walks.\nDinner Tuesday evening either at the hotel or a local pub/restaurant.\n\nWednesday.\n\n\nVisit Battle Abbey and battleground site.  The battlefield site has a museum and short site audio tour. The entry fee is £13.90 per person unless you are an English Heritage member. I will need to know before we go so that I can pay the relevant payment.\nGuided tour of two of the Battle Abbey School rooms by James Dennett\, the Marketing Manager for the school.\n\n\n\n\n\nAs it will be term time we cannot get permission to park in front of the school but there is a public car park outside the abbey gateway.\nLunch will be a buffet at the Bull’s Head in Boreham Street.\n\nVisit to Filching Manor with a talk by Karl Foulkes-Halbard\, the current owner.  This is a 1740 manor house with a ‘man cave’\, sheds full of cars and historical memorabilia\, including the speed record boat Bluebird. It is not open to public\, only to organised groups. This will be £10 per head which I will collect in advance.\n\n\nWednesday evening we will have a Gala dinner at hotel.\n\nThursday.\n\n\nThe intention is to visit the Observatory Science Center near Herstmonceaux Castle (Patrick Moore used to work there). I am currently negotiating for a guided tour of two of telescope towers and a talk on site history. Cost as yet unknown.\n\nLunch at will be at the Observatory with a  buffet and cream tea.\nThe afternoon is as yet not confirmed. We have options for local gardens\, a visit to Beachey Head or a visit to a steam train restoration project\n\n\n\nWhen you book the hotel please send me an email so that I know you’re coming and whether you are staying Thursday night.
