The Aylesbury MG Club was formed and has been meeting since 1986 and currently has approximately forty members. It was set up so that MG owners and enthusiasts can meet up regularly to discuss and enjoy their cars as much as possible – be it just chatting over a drink or attending some of our many events throughout the year. Members have a variety of MGs ranging from post-war models to modern MG sports cars and we welcome any MG model. Whilst owning an MG car can be about getting oil on your hands, we believe that sharing good times with friends is also fun, so come and join us.
We are affiliated to the MG Car Club, the MG Owners Club, and the Octagon Car Club. Whilst many of our members belong to these clubs, it is not a requirement. We are officially run by an elected committee but prefer to have an approach which means members taking on tasks when they want to.
Our regular monthly meeting, sometimes featuring a speaker, is on the first Tuesday of every month (except January) at 8 p.m. at The St John’s Sports and Social Club, A418 between Stone and Upton. Some of us like to use the excellent local Indian restaurant,Raj Bhuj, before the meeting.
In addition to organising runs including breakfast and/or lunch, plus picnics or BBQs in the summer, various groups of members organise and attend many motor and classic car events during the year – this is just some that have featured recently:
Sometimes we also join in events with other local clubs and vice versa – we’re a friendly group!
