2019 Pride of Ownership
Our Pride of Ownership event was held on Monday evening, 3rd June at our new home in The Lion at Waddesdon. A chilly evening that threatened showers deterred some entrants, but 18 cars and their stalwart owners attended nevertheless. Fortunately the threatened showers stayed away for the most part, so the judging proceeded without interruption. From the fine selection of cars on display, the following cars and owners were judged best in class:
Pre-1962 MGs – Jon Mullins MGA Coupe – it’s first showing after a lengthy restoration
1962 – 80 Roadsters – Ian Canning with his superb red MGB
1962 – 80 GTs – a tie between John Brewer’s MGB GT and Roger Withers’ BGT V8
1981 -2001 MGs – Dave Barton’s MG RV8
2002 – 05 and 2007 – 11 MGs – Lynn McMeekin’s MG TF LE500
Best of the Rest – Ian Canning again with a Mazda 626
And Finally, Best Club Car – Adrian Bennett’s MGA 1600.
After the judging, to give the organisers time to do the sums and calculate the various winners, a very tasty BBQ meal was served and enjoyed, particularly the dessert of rum infused barbecued bananas, one definitely to try at home!! Many thanks to The Lion for the catering.
Then the raffle, with prizes generously donated by our members, the awards presented, and it was time to wend our way home. Another successful and enjoyable PoO evening.

Got something to say?
