Joint Venture

Adrian and Dave have embarked on a joint project to own and fettle an MG Midget as an addition to their current collection of cars.

Here is a bit of history and information on the vehicle and what we have done since taking delivery.

It is a late model 1500 which was registered in February 1981 but obviously must have been manufactured in 1979 as this was the last production run.

This is what we know about the history of the car. It was sent from the factory to a garage in Penzance called Taylors and was sold as a new car to persons unknown. It was then kept for many years in a private car collection until it was sold more recently to someone who actually used it and put some miles on the clock. It was sold again just two years ago to it’s third owner from new, who according to the MOT history, only did a few miles before selling it back to the dealer he bought it from.

We saw the advert in a classic car magazine and here is the description:

History

This is an exceptional example of a 1981 MG Midget 1500 having covered only 9510 miles. Finished in Pageant Blue with contrasting beige trim and a black soft top. Silver and Black Rostyle wheels. This rubber bumper version of the car comes with a radio cassette player and quarter light door windows. This must be one of the best examples of an MG Midget on the market today.

Unable to resist Adrian and I bought the car and it was delivered to us on 12th July. Since then we have enjoyed a few outings and have started on a programme of improvements.

We look forward to showing the car at future club events.
