Annual General Meeting, Monday January 6th
26 Members attended the 2020 AGM on 6th January. A lively and worthwhile meeting, the minutes of which are posted on the website. Your committee for 2020 were elected as follows:
Chairman – Dave Barton, Treasurer – Jack Martin, Events Manager – Heather Barton, Marketing Manager – Helen Wayland, Member Representative – Debbs Martin, Secretary – Adrian Bennett, President – Clive Wayland (Non-elected honorary post).
The new committee are meeting on 3rd February to draw up a schedule of events for the year, and details of this will be posted, along with the minutes of the meeting, on our website soon afterwards, so please look out for this. Suggestions for future activities are always welcome, particularly if this is accompanied by a volunteer to arrange them …. details to me in the first instance please.
Club’s Annual Dinner and Prizegiving

The arrangements for the annual dinner and prize giving are now complete. This event is being held in the Seven Stars in Dinton on Saturday 1st February 2020 at 19.30 – dress is formal, black tie or lounge suit for the gentlemen, posh frocks for the ladies.
This event replaces the February Club Night, so if you are not attending the dinner, please remember not to go to The Lion on Monday 3rd February otherwise you will be drinking on your own or with the locals ….

Sunday 9th February – MG Spares Day
At the National Agriculture Centre, Stoneleigh. For all those tempting oily bits you always wanted. Get there early, it gets packed …..
Monday March 2nd – Club Night
We will have a guest speaker for this club night, Mike Payne, who will be talking to us about the history of Pinewood Studios, so should be an interesting evening.
June 13th – 14th 2020 – MG Live!
Provisional dates for the largest MG event in the world at Silverstone, unless there are more roadworks. Let’s hope it actually happens this year!
A very short newsletter this month as we are still deep in winter hibernation, so that’s all for the time being, folks …..
