Pride of Ownership 2023

Following the cancellation of the PoO last month due to adverse weather conditions, we saw the event organised for the 4th August last week.

The event was well attended with a good range of cars from old to new all polished and looking their best. The weather was kind to us and the event went well with members both new and old winning trophies for their cars.

This years Winners were as follows:

  • Class A Brian Deacon for his 1939 MG VA
  • Class B S Shearman for his 1973 MGB Roadster
  • Class C Gary Tomkins for his 1968 MGB GT
  • Class D Jackie Bennet for her 1998 MGF
  • Class E Lynn McMeakin for her 2008 MGF LE
  • Class G A Kendal for his 1958 AH Sprite

Thanks to Jack and Debs for running the event and Clive and Helen for organising the Fish and Chips supper which was enjoyed by most.

A special thanks to Pete Giles who kindly sponsored the trophies for this years event.

We need some FWD cars to cover a wider cross section but the cars that turned up were pleasing to the eye. If I can make a suggestion? Hopefully Jack and Debs will be organising next year’s event and if so perhaps we can try to get the cars to park a bit further back from the access track, with a car’s width between them and a car’s length in front/behind? That will help to produce much better pics which we could then send to Enjoying MG/Safety Fast with a report. (I know I was early this year and others lined up on my car).

That said, the entire evening was good fun and our guest from Milton Keynes went away quite impressed.

Got something to say?
